The novel coronavirus, which causes the disease COVID-19, has ravaged the entire country, and, with the shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE), healthcare workers on the frontlines are being left unprotected and extremely vulnerable to infection. Not everyone has funds or access to medical and sanitation products either, and that is why BStrong is teaming up with Global Empowerment Mission and IMMUSE™ in order to create and send coronavirus kits to low-income households and hospital staff around the nation, especially in areas that have been hit the hardest.
BStrong and Global Empowerment Mission have also been working directly with manufacturers and distributors to ensure that PPE is sent to hospitals across the nation. They have sourced medical grade FDA approved mask manufacturers from both China and Israel and are committed to servicing up to 250 hospitals, nationwide.
BStrong & Global Empowerment Mission’s Disaster Relief Initiatives
BStrong’s disaster relief initiative was founded by Bethenny Frankel in 2017 to provide real-time emergency assistance to individuals and their families in crisis. BStrong works with community partners and notable charities, including Global Empowerment Mission, in order to get boots on the ground in affected areas to access the most pressing needs and provide immediate disaster relief aid. Global Empowerment Mission, which was founded by Michael Capponi in 2011, is the official disaster relief charity for BStrong and a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has been involved in supporting some of the most significant global tragedies over the last decade. Together, BStrong and GEM have raised and distributed millions of dollars to victims of natural disasters around the world.
Coronavirus Kits From BStrong GEM & IMMUSE™
Due to the lack of medical and sanitation products in the marketplace, the coronavirus kit program was designed to provide these essential and necessary items to the most vulnerable members in our community, including low-income households and healthcare workers who are risking their lives on the frontlines, fighting the pandemic. So far, 20,000 coronavirus relief kits have been assembled at BStrong’s Miami headquarters and sent out across the country. The coronavirus kits consist of essentials items, such as sanitation wipes, gloves, masks, hand sanitizer, BStrong cash cards, SOS hydration kits, and the immune-boosting supplement, IMMUSE™, which combines a proprietary blend of unique peptides and essential vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.
COVID-19 Response Efforts
Through the efforts of BStrong and GEM’s COVID-19 response initiative in the US, thus far, 731,780 masks, including 3M N95, KN95, and surgical masks, and 1,150,000 biohazard hazmat full protective bodysuits have been sent to 185 medical facilities in over 20 states, such as New York, New Jersey, California, Massachusetts, Louisiana, and Florida. Along with providing PPE, BStrong and GEM have disbursed a total of $1.35M in grants, on behalf of Verstandig Family Foundation Grant, as well as $144K in cash cards.
BStrong and GEM are also in the process of finalizing coronavirus self-test kits, which will enable individuals to perform at home testing, providing results on the spot with a 98% success right. These test kits will first go through medical testing in hospitals before being available to the general public.
IMMUSE™ & GEM’s Take 1 Give 1 Initiative
At IMMUSE™, we are strong advocates of promoting a healthy lifestyle and overall wellness. We feel that everyone should be able to have access to basic needs like clean water, food, healthcare, and adequate shelter, which is why we teamed up with Global Empowerment Mission for our Take 1 Give 1 outreach initiative to support the most vulnerable members of our global community. Through our partnership with GEM, we are able to donate a portion of our sales and product in kind in order to provide emergency aid, food, and housing to those struck by tragedy.
